China to Offer Visa Free Entry to Selected Countries

Visiting China opens up a diverse range of opportunities and experiences but standing in a long queue for visa processing and waiting for the approval can be a hectic task to perform. In spite of that China has announced a visa-free entry for citizens of six additional European countries and expands the visa-free entry list.

 

According to the latest news issued on  7th March the Foreign Minister of China Mr. Wang Yi announced that from March 14 to November 30, 2024 the citizens of Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, and Luxembourg would be able to enter China. An ordinary passport holder from these mentioned countries can enter China visa-free. 

 

This initiative by the Chinese Government allows the citizens from these countries to enter China for the purpose of business, tourism, visiting on vacation to their relatives or friends, and for the purpose of transit without requiring a visa.

 

The Minister Wang Yi also expressed his hope that other nations would take similar steps, to emphasize the importance of constructing fast networks for traveling across the borders and increase the beginning of international passenger flights.

 

More than 54 countries are eligible for 72/144-hour transit visa-free policies for China and now China has added 6 more European countries in the visa-free entry list, but Pakistan is yet not added in this list. To visit China Pakistanis are required to have a Visa.

Send your passport along with required documentation to the Chinese embassy or consulate in Pakistan after completing the online application. Typically, it takes around four to five business days for visa processing. It might take longer during the peak travel seasons.
