Kuwait Lifts Travel Restrictions From 35 Countries From February

In order to contain the spread of the Covid-19, Kuwait restricted the entry of foreigners from around 35 countries that were declared as “high-risk countries”. The travel ban had been applied for at least 07 months ago and no flights from the mentioned 35 countries were landed in Kuwait. However, recently the government of Kuwait lifted the ban from all these banned countries and the flights will be resumed according to the normal schedules. 

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), on Thursday, February 18th, 2021 has declared that a proposal has been submitted to the Ministry of Health to allow foreigners to travel to Kuwait. However, after passing several hours the travel ban for commercial purposes had been resumed.Initially, the ban was embossed to 31 countries and then some other countries were also included. Afghanistan was added to the list of the banned countries in August. In September the list was amended and France and Argentina were added to the list, however, Singapore was removed from this list. Moreover, after the announcement from the UK that the new strain of the Covid-19 virus has been detected in the country and the virus has been spreading more rapidly than previously, the United Kingdom was also added to the list of the banned countries.
