  • Also, a 72-page passport costs Rs 9,200 for the normal and Rs 14,500 for the urgent validity of five years.
  • For those needing more pages and validity, Rs 13,400 for normal 100 pages valid for ten years and Rs 21,200 for urgent.

  5. Foreign Passport along with its photocopy, (for Dual-Nationals only).
  6. In case of a Lost passport, bring a Lost passport Police report mentioning the previous passport number.
  7. The Pakistan passport photo size: a passport and valid photo that must be sized at 2 x 2 inches or 51 x 51 mm. The photo should be taken from the shoulders up with a white background.

Pakistan Passport Shortage

There is a problem in the production of Passports where Pakistan is experiencing a Pakistani passport shortage three times a week due to an existing backlog in production including a lack of lamination papers. It was only in late 2023 that the public was informed of a huge stack of nearly 700,000 passports awaiting printing. Worse still, complexity in processing systems owing to technical challenges has added to this problem.

Requirements For Official Passports

  1. As per SOP the designated Officer of the concerned Ministry/Division/Dept. will forward the recommendatory letter, through their representative, for issuance of official passport to official/officer, mentioning the purpose of visit abroad, duration and the countries to be visited, supported with the following documents:
     
  • CNIC and official Pass/Card of the applicant and the authorized officer.
  • Attested copy of the final selection letter of course/training/posting/deputation/secondment.
  • Any Last passport held by the applicant.

 

2. The Directorate General of Immigration & Passports will convey authorization to concerned RPO/Foreign Mission according to the location of the applicant, under intimation to the recommending authority.
3. The applicant will visit the relevant Passport Office/Foreign Mission for capturing of data and photograph along with authorization letter, issued by Directorate General and CNIC, last passport (if issued) in original and its copies. The Official Passports are delivered after four working days
