A 7-day Umrah is the most popular short pilgrimage from Lahore. It fits a normal work leave, it is easier on elderly parents and children, and it gives you enough time to visit both Madinah and Makkah without rushing. This guide shows what the week actually looks like, what it costs and what to check before you pay, so you can compare packages with confidence. You can browse Trips.pk Umrah packages at any time, or fill in the request form on this page and a consultant will call you.
7 Days Umrah from Lahore at a Glance
| Detail | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Trip length | 7 days, usually 6 nights in Saudi Arabia |
| Typical split | 3 nights in Madinah and 3 nights in Makkah (or the reverse) |
| Departure airport | Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore (LHE) |
| Flight time | About 5 to 5.5 hours to Jeddah or Madinah |
| Time difference | Saudi Arabia is 2 hours behind Pakistan |
| Typical inclusions | Visa, hotels, ground transport, ziyarat and guidance (flights vary, see below) |
| Best for | Working professionals, families, first-time pilgrims, seniors who want a shorter trip |
Is 7 Days Enough for Umrah?
Yes, for most travellers. The Umrah itself (Ihram, Tawaf, Sa'i and Halq or Taqsir) takes a few hours, and a well-planned week leaves several days for worship in both holy cities. The main trade-off is pace, not completeness.
A 7-day package suits you if
- You have limited leave from work or school.
- You are travelling with young children or elderly parents who tire easily.
- This is your first Umrah and you want a focused, guided trip.
- You plan to return for a longer visit later.
Consider 10 or 14 days if
- You want more time for Rawdah visits and extra prayers in the Haram.
- You are travelling in Ramadan and want to maximise worship time.
- You prefer a slow pace with rest days between activities.
Your 7 Days in Makkah and Madinah: Day-by-Day Plan
Most Lahore itineraries begin in Madinah, then move to Makkah. Your package may reverse the order, so confirm it before booking.
| Day | Plan |
|---|---|
| Day 1 | Fly from Lahore to Madinah, complete immigration, transfer to your hotel and rest. Pray Isha at Masjid an-Nabawi if you have the energy. |
| Day 2 | Fajr at Masjid an-Nabawi, then your Rawdah visit if your permit slot is confirmed. Free time for prayers and rest. |
| Day 3 | Ziyarat in Madinah: Quba Mosque, Uhud and other historic sites with your guide. |
| Day 4 | Check out and transfer to Makkah. Pilgrims coming from Madinah wear Ihram at the miqat. Perform Umrah on arrival or after resting. |
| Day 5 | Worship in the Haram at your own pace. Optional Makkah ziyarat. |
| Day 6 | Free day for extra Tawaf, prayers and shopping. Pack and prepare for departure. |
| Day 7 | Farewell Tawaf, checkout and transfer to Jeddah for your flight home. |
Madinah first or Makkah first?
Madinah first is common because many flights land at Madinah and it gives you a gentler start before the physical demands of Umrah. Makkah first means you complete the main pilgrimage earlier and spend the rest of the trip at peace. Both are valid, so choose what suits your group.
How you travel between the two cities
The two cities are about 450 km apart. Packages move you by coach or private transport, and some include the Haramain high-speed train, which is faster. Confirm which one your package uses.
7 Days Umrah Package Price from Lahore
Prices vary widely because each package mixes different hotels, room sharing and flight arrangements. The table below uses ranges seen across Pakistani agencies for planning, per person. Trips.pk live prices replace these ranges, so check the package page for today's figure.
| Package level | Typical hotels | Package-only estimate (PKR) | With economy return flight (PKR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Budget | Economy hotels, shuttle or longer walk | 85,000–100,000 | About 250,000–290,000 |
| Economy Plus | 3 to 4 star, moderate walk | 140,000–175,000 | About 300,000–370,000 |
| Premium | 4 to 5 star, short walk | 190,000–230,000 | About 350,000–425,000 |
| Luxury | 5 star, steps from the Haram | 285,000+ | About 440,000+ |
Estimates assume quad sharing and economy flights. Double or couple rooms cost more per person. Airfare changes by season, so book early.
What moves the price
- Hotel distance from the Haram. A hotel 100 metres away costs far more than one 1 km away with a shuttle.
- Room sharing. Quad is cheapest, then triple, then double.
- Flights. Airfare is often the largest part of the cost, and it rises in Ramadan, December and school holidays.
- Season. Ramadan and winter break are the most expensive.
- Inclusions. Meals, private transport and extra ziyarat raise the price.
Always ask: is the flight included?
Some agencies advertise a "package price" that excludes airfare, then add the flight later. Ask for the all-in price per person, with flights, before you compare.
What Is Included and What Isn't
| Item | Usually included | Check before you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Umrah visa | Yes | Visa fee included in the quoted price |
| Return flights | Varies | Airline, flight class and baggage allowance |
| Hotels | Yes | Name, distance from the Haram and meal plan |
| Airport and city transfers | Yes | Private or shared coach |
| Madinah and Makkah ziyarat | Often | Number of tours and guide language |
| Guide or Mutawwif | Often | Whether available through the whole trip |
| Meals | Sometimes breakfast | Which meals, and which are optional |
| Haramain train | Sometimes | Included or an extra charge |
| Travel insurance | Rarely | Add travel insurance separately |
How to Choose the Right 7-Day Package
Economy package
Best for tight budgets and healthy travellers who don't mind walking or taking a shuttle. Check the shuttle schedule so you aren't stuck between prayers.
Standard or Economy Plus package
The sweet spot for most families. Hotels are comfortable and reasonably close, and the price stays manageable.
Premium and luxury package
Choose these if you are travelling with elderly parents, have mobility issues or want to spend most of your time in the Haram. A hotel close to the Haram saves energy for worship.
Family and group travel
Ask for rooms that fit your group size. Quad rooms suit families of four, and children's pricing differs from adult pricing, so request a full quote.
Hotels in Makkah and Madinah: How to Read Distance
| Distance from Haram | What it means |
|---|---|
| Under 200 m | Very short walk; premium price |
| 200–500 m | Comfortable walk for most; mid-range |
| 500 m–1 km | Longer walk, sometimes a shuttle; budget-friendly |
| Over 1 km | Transport needed; lowest cost |
Ask for the distance to the nearest gate, not just the building name, and check whether the walk is flat or uphill. For seniors, the walk matters more than the star rating. You can also compare hotels in Makkah and Madinah on Trips.pk.
Documents, Visa and Health Requirements
Umrah visa
Your agency arranges the Umrah visa through a licensed operator. Make sure the operator is registered and give them your documents early, since visa processing times vary by season. See our visa services for related help.
Health requirements
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have set vaccination rules for pilgrims, which often include meningitis vaccination and a polio vaccination certificate for travellers from Pakistan. Requirements change, so confirm the current list with your agent.
What to prepare
| Document | Notes |
|---|---|
| Passport | Valid for at least 6 months beyond travel |
| Passport photos | Recent, white background |
| CNIC copy | For all adult travellers |
| Vaccination certificates | As currently required |
| Marriage certificate | If a couple, and for women travelling with a mahram where needed |
| Birth certificates or B-forms | For children |

Practical Tips for a Smooth 7 Days
Packing
- Two sets of Ihram for men, and comfortable, modest clothing for women.
- Comfortable, easy-to-remove footwear and a small bag for shoes.
- Unscented toiletries, a refillable water bottle and basic medication.
- A power bank and a SIM or eSIM for Saudi Arabia.
Women and families
Plan rest breaks, keep children's snacks handy and agree on a meeting point in the Haram in case you get separated. Ask your agent about family-friendly timing for the Rawdah visit.
Senior travellers
Request a hotel close to the Haram, ask about wheelchair availability at the Haram and carry a medical summary with your medicines.
Money
Carry Saudi riyals for small purchases and keep your cards for larger ones. Ask the agency which meals and transfers are already covered.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Comparing packages without flights included. Always ask for the all-in price.
- Booking too late. Prices rise and good hotels sell out, especially for Ramadan and winter.
- Ignoring hotel distance. A cheap hotel far from the Haram costs you time and energy.
- Skipping health requirements. Missing vaccination papers can delay your visa or travel.
- Overpacking. You will carry your bags between hotels and transport.
- Not asking about the Rawdah permit. Slots are limited and cannot always be guaranteed.
