According to a recent statement by Dr. Abdulfattah Mashat, the Saudi deputy official minister for Hajj and Umrah, it was stated that approx. 400,000 Umrah pilgrims are expected to carry out the holy act of Umrah pilgrimage in the upcoming month of Ramadan, which begins early April next month.

No Limit for Umrah Pilgrims

Dr. Abdulfatteh Mashat also further clarified that Umrah is now open, and there is no defined limit for Umrah pilgrims arriving outside of Saudi Arabia. He further added that the Umrah pilgrim's daily allowance numbers would be handled according to the Grand Mosque capacity.

The deputy minister further clarified that as Saudi Arabia government eased down on pandemic-related restrictions, the number of Umrah pilgrims rose exponentially. Saudi Arabia kingdom now welcomes thousands of Umrah pilgrims every day.

The deputy minister Dr. Abdulfattah Mashat further added that lifting the coronavirus-related restrictions were carefully analyzed and assessed as the pandemic situation of the kingdom was comforting due to the high-quality health services and overall high vaccination rate. He further clarified that the Saudi Arabia government had not set any defined limit on the number of Umrah pilgrims it will receive as anybody who has Umrah permit is allowed and welcomed among the Saudi Arabia Kingdom.

The deputy minister Dr.Abdulfattah Mashat when questioned about the number of likely Hajj pilgrims to be allowed this year by Saudi Arabia kingdom he, stated that it is unlikely to tell at this time. He further explained that Saudi Health Ministry is still in the process of accessing the coronavirus pandemic and its resulting impact.
