NUSUK System Update – New Rules for Umrah Packages and Umrah Visa from Pakistan

Islamabad/Riyadh – A major update has been announced in the NUSUK system, bringing important changes for Pakistani pilgrims preparing their journeys. The new rules affect how Umrah packages, Umrah visas, and hotel bookings will be managed, making it essential for travelers to stay informed before finalizing their plans.

Old Umrah Packages Closed

The announcement confirmed that all previously available Umrah packages from Pakistan (Plan 1, Plan 2, and Plan 3) have now been closed. This means pilgrims will need to book under the newly introduced system rules, which directly link visa issuance with confirmed accommodation.

Visa Issuance Linked to Hotel BRN

One of the biggest changes is that an Umrah visa will now only be issued if the pilgrim has a complete hotel Booking Reference Number (BRN) covering all nights of stay. Without a valid BRN, visa applications will not be accepted.

This makes advance booking of hotels in Makkah and hotels in Madinah more important than ever. The option of shared-based bookings may also no longer be guaranteed, as BRN numbers will be required for each reservation.

New Package Options: Double, Triple, and Quad Sharing

The update also changes how Umrah packages hotels will be offered. Pilgrims can now only book packages on:

Double Sharing (2 persons per room)

Triple Sharing (3 persons per room)

Quad Sharing (4 persons per room)

This new rule provides clarity but also limits flexibility, meaning pilgrims must plan their accommodation more carefully.

Higher Prices Expected for External Hotel Bookings

Authorities have cautioned that if pilgrims try to arrange hotel BRNs from outside sources, the cost of Umrah packages and Umrah visas may increase significantly. With rising demand, further price hikes are also expected in the coming days.

Travel experts recommend that those booking Umrah packages from Pakistan should confirm their hotels in Makkah and Madinah early to secure better prices and avoid delays in visa processing. Completing bookings in advance is the best way to ensure a smooth and affordable journey.
