Saudi Arabia Introduces Instant e-Visa for International Travelers

The tourism industry has been ravishing throughout the world. Like other countries, Saudi Arabia has also played its part in the tourism industry. As per the statistics, the country generated a total of 5.96 billion US dollars from the tourism sector. To enhance the tourism industry and make tourism much easier for international travelers, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has started to take different measures. It has recently announced an expansion of its e-visa program. These newly e-Visa options are for the nationals of the United Kingdom, United States of America, European residents, and Schengen countries.

Instant e-Visa program

To improve the tourism industry in Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Tourism has announced an easier entry process through an instant e-Visa system for the residents of the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and Schengen countries. With the help of this newly introduced instant e-Visa, tourists will be able to enjoy and explore the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia without any difficulty. Furthermore, tourists will be able to visit different tourist destinations in the Kingdom and experience the culture and hospitality of residents.

Eligibility for Saudi Instant E-Visa program

Saudi Arabia has introduced its new instant E-Visa to expand tourism in the country. However, to avail Saudi Instant e-Visa tourists are required to meet the following criteria.

  1. The first and foremost requirement to avail Saudi Instant E-Visa is that the applicant must be a national of any of following.
  • United Kingdom
  • United States of America
  • Schengen nationals
  • Nationals of European countries
  1. Applicants must have a valid tourism or business visa of the UK, US, or Schengen, which must be used once.
  2. First-degree relatives of visa holders can also benefit from the Instant e-Visa.
  3. Permanent residents of the above mentioned countries can also bring their families through an upon-arrival visa to Saudi premises.
  4. Tourism visas do not include Hajj and Umrah.

Saudi Stopover Visa

Apart from the Instant e-Visa, the Saudi government has also implemented a notable change for passengers travelling in Flynas and SAUDIA. The benefit of this visa is that passengers can stay in the country for up to 96 hours. It helps transit passengers explore the country in the meantime and indulge in cultural activities, and experience the diverse attractions in the Kingdom.

Tourism in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia opened its doors to international travelers in the year 2019. Since the Kingdom has welcomed international travelers, the country has become one of the fastest-growing countries in the tourism sector. As per recent statistics, the country welcomed a record-breaking entry of 93.5 million visits in 2022. As the officials stated, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made the above-mentioned changes to attract approximately 100 million visitors by the year 2030 and become a premier destination for tourism.
