Every year tens of thousands of Muslims visit the holy cities of Mecca and Medina to offer Hajj and Umrah. Announcement of Minister of Religious Affairs:

The minister of religious affairs of Saudi Arabia said that the Umrah and other ziyarats have been suspended by taking account of the severe consequences of the virus. However, the situation is continuously monitored so that effective measures can be taken to contain its spread.

Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Mohammad Saleh bin Taher Benten also said that the condition of coronavirus pandemic is analyzed by the professionals, and as soon as the situation will get better then the officials will pronounce the final statement regarding this matter. Resume prayers in the Mosques:

The interior minister of Saudi Arabia has informed the people that the Mosques of Mecca will be opened from 21st June for the devouts. The safety measures will be followed to offer the congregation prayers. The prayers in the Haram will be offered according to the current rules and regulations by maintaining the distance between the people.
